The Book of Enoch and The Davidic Servant Part III
The Book of Enoch and The Davidic Servant Part III
The Hidden Servant
Disclaimer: This article does not reflect official doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Please pray before and after reading to be guided to and have the truth confirmed by the Holy Ghost.
Introduction:
Fragments of the Book of Enoch were found at Qumran in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Scholars assume, of course, that's when the book must have been written. However, the original apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ quoted the Book of Enoch as though it were scripture as I covered in the prior article in this series. At the very least, the Dead Sea Scrolls prove The Book of Enoch predates the christian area by at least two hundred years. At worst, the Book of Enoch is a tainted volume of scripture with original meaning lost through translation or edited by overzealous scribes.
Nonetheless, in these series of articles, I will demonstrate how the Book of Enoch reinforces the truth of the Davidic Servant and therefore the truth of the Davidic Servant reinforces the truths found in the Book of Enoch. The Book of Enoch is not a foundational witness but an additive one. The Spirit of Truth itself is the foundation--therefore, I must reinforce the importance of praying on these truths. Let's review what we've learned so far in the first and second articles on The Book of Enoch and The Davidic Servant.
Here is some of what we have learned so far about the Elect One being the same person as the Davidic Servant:
- The seraph's anthem is mentioned both in Isaiah and The Book of Enoch and are linked to both Enoch and The Elect One.
- Enoch is confirmed to be over the seraphim, or level six, as I outline in Levels Five Through Eight.
- The Elect One is ascending from level six to inherit a throne of glory as I outline in For Unto Us A Child Is Born.
- The Elect One is very likely the same person in Isaiah 11:2-5 (The Rod)
- Six of the seven qualities from Isaiah 11:2 are aligned to the Elect One, five in the same verse in the Book of Enoch
- By the breath of his lips will he slay the wicked is also in The Book of Enoch
- Destroys the wicked (Isaiah 11:4, Enoch 62:2,11)
- The righteousness and the judgement of the Elect One are linked in both Isaiah and The Book of Enoch.
- The righteousness key word link to the Davidic Servant or the Elect One is confirmed and used throughout the Book of Enoch as well as Isaiah.
- The seven levels of mankind are reflected in the seven spirits in Isaiah and reinforced in the Book of Enoch.
I failed to address that last bullet point in the prior article. Here is the verse from Isaiah that details the seven spirits:
Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
However, the seven spirits in Isaiah 11 align perfectly to levels 2 through 8 as demonstrated by the image below.
The spirit of the fear of the Lord aligns with the motivation of repentance which drives the first principles of the Gospel that then lead to the first ordinances whereby level 3 is attained. Knowledge is tied to obedience. Sacrifice to Might. The law of the Gospel, epitomized by Noah who preached for 120 years, aligns perfectly to counsel. Chastity aligns to understanding as the mind must be pure before deeper understanding can be attained. Wisdom aligns to consecration, and the Spirit of the Lord aligns to perfection.
This is why "righteousness" is the key word aligned to the Davidic Servant. He has traversed the levels of mankind and is graduating from the level of unrighteousness to righteousness, having overcome the final level of self-mastery. He is ascending to the level of archangels, or level seven, and the law associated with their level and covenant is the Law of Consecration.
Isaiah 11:2 is understood by the Jews and by other religions to represent a fullness of character or a fullness of stature. Many Christians believe this to be Christ but we LDS know better per D&C 113 which identifies this man as the offspring of Ephraim and Judah upon whom is laid much power.
There is yet another critical point of truth that is reinforced by the Elect One in The Book of Enoch.
- The Elect One, or the Davidic Servant, is not Joseph Smith and is not Jesus Christ.
Many LDS attempt to shoehorn these prophecies into either Joseph Smith or Jesus Christ. This is completely understandable--I used to do this myself. The idea that there is another Moses or some critical end times servant who is relatively unknown to us is an extremely uncomfortable thought. Cognitive Dissonance is the result of trying to synthesize new knowledge to an established belief system; I certainly have experienced my fair share of cognitive dissonance since I began my journey seeking the truth of the Davidic Servant over 2 years ago.
However, as I will cover in this article, the Elect One, or the Davidic Servant is also known as the Hidden Servant.
Part I The Hidden Servant
There are many more links from the Book of Enoch to our standard works that confirm the Elect One is the Davidic Servant. As demonstrated clearly in the last article, the Elect One is the Rod whose qualities are written in Isaiah 11:2-5 and are mirrored in the Book of Enoch to the Elect One. D&C 113:3-4 demonstrate this is a servant of Christ and not Christ himself. Now, the Book of Encoh acts as a key as we have a title, "The Elect One" we can now link to modern revelation in D&C 113:3-4. Here are some of the other prophesies about the Elect One we can map back to Isaiah and to this end times' servant:
- The hidden aspect of the servant (Isaiah 49:2, Enoch 48:4, 62:1,6)
- The light of the gentiles (Isaiah 60:3, Enoch 48:4)
- The gatherer of Israel (Isaiah 49:6, Moses 7:62, Enoch 51:2)
- Returns Israel to a knowledge of their God (3 Nephi 20:13,35,36,43-46, Enoch 50)
- The restorer of all things (Isaiah 1:26, 58:12)
- Kings and Princes will extol him (Isaiah 49:6,23, 60:3,10-12, Extolled in Isaiah 52:13 & in Enoch 62:6)
- The servant will put kings down from their thrones (Isaiah 60:12, Enoch 46:5)
- Reveals all (Isaiah 28, Enoch 46:3, Enoch 51:3)
- Righteousness (Isaiah 41:2, Enoch 38:2-3, master of levels 3-6 -> actions, desires, words, thoughts)
- The metaphor of the pain of the woman in travail (Isaiah 13:8, Isaiah 54:1, Enoch 62:4)
- Servant tied to New heaven, new Earth (Isaiah 40:4, 65:17, Enoch 45:4-5)
The above list also demonstrates aspects and prophecies covered in modern day scriptures in addition to Isaiah. Nephi dedicates chapters to Isaiah, and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself quotes several chapters when He comes to visit the nephites. Why? Why are these prophecies of the "Elect One" so important from Enoch, through Christ's ministry until this last dispensation?
The Book Of Enoch acts as a link to tie all these prophecies together to the same person so that we may know with a surety this is not Joseph Smith and is not Jesus Christ. This is someone else. Again, pray on this, for the spirit will confirm this truth for few people even realize there is another great prophet who will come before the second coming to gather Israel and return God's people to a knowledge of their Lord.
Why do few people know there is another great prophet? Well he's hidden! The Book of Enoch underscores the hidden aspect of the Elect One tremendously. If the Book of Enoch is authored by Enoch himself, then we have a source that confirms that the Elect One, or the Davidic Servant, was hidden from the foundation of the world, and the hidden aspect is itself has a deeper meaning. Moreover, developing an understanding of this hidden aspect may unlock a deeper understanding of eternal progression. Let's take a look at the hidden nature of this end times servant in the standard works first, beginning with Joseph of Egypt!
Part II Joseph of Egypt, the Hidden Servant
If you are scratching your chin at the title of this section, please consider the fact that Joseph of Egypt was the servant to Pharaoh and was hidden to his brothers as they did not recognize him! In the article, Abraham, Michael, and The Davidic Servant, I explore the possibility that the "one like unto the son of man" is none other than the Davidic Servant. The evidence is compelling. The scope of Abraham is this Earth--Jesus would have already been selected as Savior of worlds, plural. Michael would even have already been given charge of the world he was to create. The scope of the selection would have been within the scope of this world.
To recap what I covered in Abraham, Michael, and The Davidic Servant, I presented the idea that there are two fathers and two sons. There are is a spiritual father, creator of our spirits--Elohim. There is a spiritual son--Savior of our spirits--Jehovah. There is a temporal father--father of our bodies--Adam. Last, and perhaps least, there is a temporal son--temporal savior of Israel, gatherer and restorer of all truth. The Elect One or The Davidic Servant. The Book of Enoch makes this case even more compelling. But first, let's look at the symbols here.
These symbols are demonstrated by the patriarchs themselves, Abraham, Isaac, Israel, and Joseph.

Notice how only Abram and Jacob receive new names. Neither have symbols of saviorhood in their lives but both have symbols of Fatherhood--in fact Abraham and Israel are both often referred to as Fathers throughout the scriptures and in Judaism. Both Isaac and Joseph have strong symbols of saviorhood, and neither experienced a name change. Isaac was the sacrificial son--that symbol is easy. Jesus Christ. But what about Joseph?
I submit to you that Joseph's life is a direct foreshadowing of the Elect One, or The Davidic Servant. Many see Joseph's life with symbols of Jesus Christ--I'm not minimizing this concept. Adam / Michael (two names--see?) is a strong symbol of Elohim himself. Father, lawgiver, steward to whom we report, etc. As such, the Davidic Servant's life is also parallel to Christ's, and as with Adam, the Davidic Servant's parallels are smaller-scale. Let's review the symbols of his life. Avraham Gileadi, LDS Isaiah Scholar, speaks of the Davidic Covenant which includes proxy salvation, and he speaks of how the Davidic Servant is a partaker of this covenant throughout his writings and his website. Let's look at the symbols of Joseph and see how they parallel the Davidic Servant, or the Elect One.
First, Joseph was cast out by his brothers and rejected by them. He was sold for 20 pieces of silver. At first glance, the parallels to the known ministry of Jesus Christ are obvious! Jesus was betrayed by Judas and His people that He came to save and was betrayed for silver. However, He was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. Could this be an overt symbol to show the relative value or progression of the Spiritual Messiah over the (punctuation intentional) temporal messiah? Remember, Isaiah's writing themselves use parallel prophecy where he uses the names of people and countries of his day to prophesy of future people and countries. Could this parallelism all be a key to unlocking this mystery of heavenly patterns?
So, how does the Davidic Servant's life mirror Joseph's in regard to being rejected by his brothers? According to Isaiah 28, Ephraim will be at odds with the Mighty and Strong One as he appears to them and offers meaty truths to Ephraim who is accustomed to milk. This is quite a strong prophesy and should make any Latter-day Saint wary. Isaiah 28 is at least an indication that the Davidic Servant will not be embraced by his people - at least not at first. And what about the marring?
3 Nephi 21:9 For in that day, for my sake shall the Father work a work, which shall be a great and a marvelous work among them; and there shall be among them those who will not believe it, although a man shall declare it unto them.
10 But behold, the life of my servant shall be in my hand; therefore they shall not hurt him, although he shall be marred because of them. Yet I will heal him, for I will show unto them that my wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil.
Many LDS believe the above servant is Joseph Smith, who was tarred and feathered by his enemies. However, Joseph was never healed as he carried that limp unto his last day and he certainly wasn't healed in a way that would show the Lord's wisdom being greater than the cunning of the deal. Moreover, verse 9 implies that the servant's work will be rejected, possibly by his own people as "them" in verse 9 could be referring to Israel in verse 7.
What other symbols are there? In Leviticus 16, the ordinance of Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, the holiest of Jewish holidays is given, only there is no lamb offered in the sacrifice. Rather, there are two goats. Lots are cast and one is sacrificed and the other is sent into the wilderness, having Israel's sins pronounced upon its head. The sacrificed goat is "For Jehovah" and the scapegoat is "For Azazel." In fact the word "Scapegoat" was made for this verse by William Tyndale in his 1530 English translation of the Bible for the "goat that escapes."1 This symbolism is worthy of a study in a separate article, and I certainly recommend the article "The Scapegoat Dilemma" by John Pratt.
Leviticus 16:8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the Lord, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
However, within the scope of this article, the two goats are worth mentioning as AZAZEL can have one of two meanings depending on where the words are separated. She goat or kid goat in hebrew is EZ.2 Vowels can be tricky, but the hebrew word written in English characters from Leviticus 16 is laazazel or la (for) azazel. For Azazel. The other goat is written layhwh - "for YHWH" or "for Jehovah.'
There is so much to say here, but I will try to keep this as brief as possible. The word AZAZEL itself has a hidden meaning! Jewish scholars invented the meaning "precipice" as the Jews adopted the practice of pushing the scapegoat off a cliff as the goat would just be inclined to return to the herd on its own, which the Jews perceived, probably incorrectly, that the return of the goat who carries the sins as a bad omen.3 However, I believe this contrived practice itself may be a foreshadowing of the Jews rejecting their own messiah! Just because the goat carries the sins away does not mean he returns with them after all!
The verb AZAZ in Hebrew generally means "strong" or "powerful".3 "El" can also mean mighty. Hebrew names in the Bible often consist of a verb and the name of a deity. El is short for Elohim and is at the end of many biblical names of prophets and at the end of every single archangel named in the Book of Enoch - and usually elsewhere. AZAZEL is no exception. DANIEL means verb "judge" and deity "God" or "God is my Judge." AZAZEL can be translated to mean verb "Strong" and deity "God" or "God is my Strength." El may also mean "mighty."4 AZAZEL may actually mean "Mighty and Strong."
Why is this important? In Leviticus 16, the goat "For Jehovah" is sacrificed and the goat "For AZAZEL" has the sins pronounced upon it and is sent into the wilderness. Both goats are essential pieces to the Day of Atonement for the sins of Israel.
Leviticus 16:5 And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
Both goats are for the sin offering. There is yet another hidden key to unlock this mystery that was discussed in my article, Abraham, Michael, and The Davidic Servant. If the one "like unto the Son of Man" is the Elect One, or the Davidic Servant who is also known as "The Mighty and Strong One" per D&C 85:7, then we have a situation where Azazel may be the name of the office to which both characters aspired in Abraham 3:
Abraham 3:27 And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first.
Azazel is the name of the leader of the fallen angels in the Book of Enoch, and Azazel is deemed a demon in the Midrash — the ancient homiletic commentary on the Hebrew Scriptures. So how can a demon or a fallen angel carry the name as the name attributed to one of the two goats who are both "for a sin offering" in Leviticus 16? Well, if you consider that the lead fallen angel, the devil himself, may have aspired to be the temporal messiah and vowed to save all mankind - aspiring to do the Spiritual Savior's work above and beyond the role of Azazel, the one mighty and strong, suddenly all the pieces start fitting together quite snugly!
Moses 4:1 And I, the Lord God, spake unto Moses, saying: That Satan, whom thou hast commanded in the name of mine Only Begotten, is the same which was from the beginning, and he came before me, saying—Behold, here am I, send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor.
Again, Leviticus 16 deserves its own article; however, suffice it to say there is a compelling case to be made here that all of theses symbols are hidden with just a few clues needed to unlock these mysteries! What if the adversary refers to himself as AZAZEL in an act of defiance? "I am the mighty and strong one - that office was mine," he is saying. Many interpret Satan as being one of the two goats--the goat is even a symbol of Satan. However, I do not believe Satan could possibly be one of the two goats who are together a sin offering for Israel, which circles us back around to Joseph.
Joseph's brothers sinned against him and cast him out to the wilderness. Isaac represents "For Jehovah" and Joseph represents "For Azazel." Because of Israel's sons, Joseph is sent out though he himself was innocent. Even a goat is used to bloody a torn coat of many colors to convince Israel his son is dead--and not just a goat but a kid of goats as is required in Leviticus 16:5 (quoted above.)
Genesis 17:31 And they took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood;
So, consider for a moment that Isaac is a symbol of one sacrificial goat and Joseph is a symbol of the goat who is sent away. Consider that Isaac is a symbol of Jesus Christ and Joseph is a symbol of the Davidic Servant, or the Elect One in the Book of Enoch. What other symbols are there in Joseph's life? For the sake of brevity, let's explore just a few.
Joseph descends to ascend. This theme is all throughout Isaiah where the Davidic Servant represents the Davidic Covenant of proxy salvation where there are phases of ascent and descent, each phase of decsent and ascent more profound than the prior.
An exemplary instance of such ascent is Jehovah’s servant—his right hand. He follows closely Jehovah’s pattern of a proxy savior under the terms of the Davidic Covenant by his, too, suffering afflictions through a descent phase (Isaiah 49:7; 50:5-6; 52:14) and subsequently rising to glory in his ascent phase (Isaiah 49:7; 52:13; 55:5). ~ Avraham Gileadi5
Joseph's life had two distinct periods of descent and ascent, the latter more profound than the former. After being cast out, Joseph started as Potipher's slave and ended that phase as master of Potipher's house. He then, unjustly, was thrust into prison--a more profound descent than the former. Through his patience and faithfulness, eventually he ascended to become the most powerful man in Egypt next to the Pharoah--an ascent yet more profound as the former as well! These symbols were not found in the life of Jesus' as His life represented His descent phase and His triumph over death is not adequately represented here in Jospeh's life. However, the Davidic Servant's ascent phase is extremely temporal in nature (see Isaiah references above.)
Another strong symbol in Joseph's life that will be made manifest by the Davidic Servant is the gathering of Israel together for their temporal salvation. The Davidic Servant will gather Israel and restore Israel to its former glory (Isaiah 49:6.) After being sold as a slave into Egypt, Joseph gathers his brothers to save them from famine, starvation, and death.
Genesis 42:5 And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan.
6 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.
7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.
8 And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him.
There are a lot more symbols of gathering and temporal salvation--for instance, while his identity remains hidden from his brothers, he uses his power to compel them to bring their youngest brother and keeps his identity hidden for the first visits but unveils his true identity when he requests they bring their father Israel so that they are all gathered together and delivered from destruction.
Genesis 46.4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
So, Joseph gathers Israel and his sons to Egypt to save them from temporal destruction and rules over his brethren. (As a side note: Brother Gileadi teaches that Egypt represents a modern superpower which fits with the United States of America.6 Modern day Ephraim is headquartered in the USA and modern day prophesy states the lost ten tribes will come to Ephraim to be crowned in glory in D&C 133:32.)
While Joseph gathers and saves his brothers, his identity is hidden to them for quite some time! This hidden aspect of Joseph and his gathering and saving his people are strong symbols of the Davidic Servant rather than of Jesus Christ--much stronger. The Book of Enoch cements the hidden aspect as it expands and expounds on the hidden element of the Elect One, or the Davidic Servant.
Part III The Concealed One
There are different translations of the Book of Enoch. In one of them - the Archbishop Laurence translation, the Elect One is also referred to as "The Concealed One."
Enoch 48:5 Therefore the Elect and the Concealed One existed in his presence, before the world was created, and for ever.7
Not only is the title "Concealed One" given alongside "The Elect One" here, but the "concealed" aspect of the title here seems to be an eternal symbol as Enoch states this being existed in the Lord's presence before this world was created and forever.
In the Book of Enoch, Enoch is shown each of the Archangels and reveals their names and their purpose. Interestingly enough, each of the archangels names end in "el" just like azaz-el (Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, etc.) Enoch learns about the Elect One and is told the Elect One is "like one of the holy angels (Enoch 46:1)" but rather than revealing the name of Elect One, Enoch is told the name of the Elect One's identity is hidden from before foundation of the world!
Enoch 48:4 He shall be a staff to the righteous whereon to stay themselves and not fall, And he shall be the light of the Gentiles, And the hope of those who are troubled of heart.
5 All who dwell on earth shall fall down and worship before him, And will praise and bless and celebrate with song the Lord of Spirits.
6 And for this reason hath he been chosen and hidden before Him, Before the creation of the world and for evermore.
7 And the wisdom of the Lord of Spirits hath revealed him to the holy and righteous; For he hath preserved the lot of the righteous, Because they have hated and despised this world of unrighteousness, And have hated all its works and ways in the name of the Lord of Spirits,: For in his name they are saved, And according to his good pleasure hath it been in regard to their life.
Here are some other passages from the Book of Enoch that refer to the hidden aspect of the Elect One.
Enoch 62:1 And thus the Lord commanded the kings and the mighty and the exalted, and those who dwell on the earth, and said:
Open your eyes and lift up your horns if you are able to recognize the Elect One.
Along with Enoch 48:7, Enoch 62:1 demonstrates that the Elect One is hidden from all but the holy and righteous.
Enoch 62:6 And the kings and the mighty and all who possess the earth shall bless and glorify and extol him who rules over all, who was hidden.
7 For from the beginning the Son of Man was hidden, And the Most High preserved him in the presence of His might, And revealed him to the elect.
Son of Man is a term not exclusive to Jesus Christ in the Old Testament, and the context of "Son of Man" in the Book of Enoch in these chapters is always quite plainly the same person as the Elect One. The hidden aspect of the hidden servant may also serve to preserve him. The hidden aspect of the Davidic Servant extends to himself:
Isaiah 51:9 ¶ Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?
Isaiah Institute Translation of Isaiah 51:19 Awake, arise; clothe yourself with power, O arm of Jehovah! Bestir yourself, as in ancient times, as in generations of old. Was it not you who carved up Rahab, you who slew the dragon?
In mortality, even the hidden servant's identity is hidden to himself! At some point the Lord commands His servant to awake and arise. The Servant returns to a knowledge of who he is and who he is to the Lord and the unique covenants he has made to him. This awakening and returning to the Lord foreshadows the servant's work as he awakens Israel to their identity and returns them to a knowledge of their Lord and their covenants.
Part IV Conclusion
I hope and pray the enormity of the mission of the Elect One, or the Davidic Servant, has left a deep spiritual impression upon you this day. You may be wondering how there can be such an important prophet to come with so many prophesies--and not just prophesies--messianic prophesies of salvation and of being the Lord's elect one, or chosen one, ... or "anointed" one. Throughout the Book of Enoch, the Elect One gives glory to the Lord of Spirits (aka The Lord of Hosts.) The Lord of Hosts witnesses of the Elect One. The Elect One witnesses of The Lord of Spirits.
Enoch 48:10 And on the day of their affliction there shall be rest on the earth, And before them they shall fall and not rise again: And there shall be no one to take them with his hands and raise them: For they have denied the Lord of Spirits and His Anointed. The name of the Lord of Spirits be blessed.
Psalms 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
Psalms 2 is almost certainly speaking of the Davidic Servant rather than Christ as Kings and their reactions, positive or negative, are often referenced throughout Isaiah in relation to the Davidic Servant. What if Jehovah is Elohim's anointed and the Elect One is Jehovah's anointed? Could it be that simple? In Abraham 3:27, it is the Lord who chooses the one "like unto the son of man." Could it be this simple? Let's see what other evidence there is. Are there any other important heavenly persons whose identity is hidden to us?
But the Holy Ghost is yet a spiritual body and waiting to take to himself a body, as the Savior did or as God did or the gods before them took bodies; for the Savior says the work that my Father did do I also. . . . He took himself a body and then laid down his life that he might take it up again. ~ Joseph Smith, The Words of Joseph Smith, p. 382
Joseph also said that the Holy Ghost is now in a state of probation which if he should perform in righteousness he may pass through the same or a similar course of things that the Son has. ~ Joseph Smith, The Words of Joseph Smith, p. 245 (From Franklin D. Richards Journal)
We LDS know next to nothing about the Holy Ghost. If the above words are true, then our founding prophet taught that the Holy Ghost was still waiting to take upon himself a body? If this is true, then do we expect him to live a normal life or would we expect him to live an extraordinary life full of works of salvation, restoration, righteousness, and light? (Isaiah 41:2; 42:6; 45:19; 49:6)
Could this be why Joseph Smith never revealed the name of the Holy Ghost himself? Like Enoch, was he shown but told to keep the name hidden? And if the Elect One is the Holy Ghost, then who are the archangels? The Elect One is the only one ascending to the order of Archangel, or the order of the "Holy Ones." Remember, in The Book of Enoch and The Davidic Servant Part I, I discuss the parallel between Isaiah 6, level 6, and the seraphim. The seraphim anthem is "Holy, Holy, Holy" where the first "Holy" represents the seraphim themselves and the last "Holy" is the Lord--which is why the thrice Holy is spoken in the presence of and in deference to the Lord.
The second "Holy" is the next order above Seraphim--The Archangels. They were archangels from the beginning. Michael was the head of the order of archangels from the beginning and is reaffirmed in the Book of Enoch--knowledge that was lost in the Bible but restored through modern day revelation.
Enoch 25:6 Then answered Michael, one of the holy and honored angels who was with me, and was their leader.
Non LDS have no clue Adam is Michael. Michael is the head of the order of Archangels, which fits perfectly with LDS as we believe he is the principal Priesthood Authority of Earth whereas Jesus' dominion is Earths, plural. Michael is the chief prince (Dan. 10:13, 21, D&C 78:16) over the princes of Israel. Each archangel is over one order of mankind, levels one through seven as I cover in my articles on The Seven Levels of Mankind and in particular Levels Five Through Eight.
In 9/23 For Unto Us a Child Is Born Part I, I demonstrate how the Davidic Servant is ascending from level six to level seven, from being a conditional servant to an unconditional son or inheritor. This truth is reaffirmed strongly in the Book of Enoch chapter 39 and identifies the Elect One with the Seraphim which I covered again in The Book of Enoch and The Davidic Servant Part I.
The only two "Holy" ones ascending during the telestial period of Earth is Jehovah and the Elect One, and these prophecies are all over our standard works, hiding in plain sight! Though the Elect One / Davidic Servant being the Holy Ghost deserves a lengthier study, I will close with just a few more scriptures and tie this article together in conclusion.
Enoch 48:4 He shall be a staff to the righteous whereon to stay themselves and not fall, And he shall be the light to the gentiles, And the hope of those who are troubled of heart.
Enoch 48:4 has an overt connection to Isaiah:
Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
There are many other clues that link "The Spirit of the Lord" to the Davidic Servant in Isaiah.
The Lord to His servant:
Isaiah 40:1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.
Jesus to His disciples:
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Could it be this simple? The Davidic Servant is commanded to comfort the Lord's people and the Lord prophesies throughout Isaiah that the servant will restore truth and bring Israel to a remembrance of their God!
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
"The Spirit of the Lord" is a title associated with the Davidic Servant in Isaiah.
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Avraham Gileadi agrees that the above passage is about the Davidic Servant in his commentary on Isaiah 61.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
These are all aspects of the Davidic Servant and the Elect One covered at the beginning of this article. In closing, let's return to the two goats who are the sin offering on the Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur. Could these two goats be the Son and The Holy Ghost - together they are the sin offering of Israel? If that idea sounds crazy, consider Paul's commentary on The Day of Atonement:
Hebrews 9:7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
The high priest entering alone once a year to the mercy seat on the Day of Atonement, the offering of blood for himself and for the errors of the people signifies, according to Paul, the Holy Ghost!
In this light, suddenly Azazel makes much more sense--especially if the title "Mighty and Strong One" is the proper translation and represents the office of the ascending Holy Ghost. Of course Satan would continue to refer to himself as such as the leader of the fallen angels does in The Book of Enoch and in the Midrash — the ancient homiletic commentary on the Hebrew Scriptures. He aspired to be the Holy Ghost and his pride elevated that office beyond its purview, as he aspired to do the Lord's work which was His alone (see Moses 4:1 above.)
Is this why our modern day revelation excludes so much information about the Holy Ghost? Like the Savior's ministry, will there be another God who comes who is hidden to his own people?

7. Archbishop Lawrence translation of Enoch 48:5
Genesis 17:31 And they took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood;

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

I think your order of the Eight is incorrect. It could be this:

54 Yea, and Enoch also, and they who were with him; the prophets who were before him; and Noah also, and they who were before him; and Moses also, and they who were before him;
55 And from Moses to Elijah, and from Elijah to John, who were with Christ in his resurrection,

The 7 refer to the seven main dispensations of earths history. The first thousand years, the second thousand years, etc.
I enjoyed reading this. Thank you for putting it together.
ReplyDeleteMore proof that Jesus(Lord of Spirit ) talks about the son of man.
ReplyDeleteJohn 3:13, KJV: And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
How can some say that Jesus is the only Son of man when he was teaching that the son of man was in heaven while he was here on earth.
