Can We Be Led Astray?
Can We Be Led Astray?
If you've read my posts here, you've seen me witness of President Nelson and of my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hear me now: This is the Lord's church. President Nelson is one of the watchmen of Israel as are the other 14 Apostles. They are of his holy order, and there's nothing in the scriptures from the Book of Enoch to the words of Joseph Smith that suggests we cannot be led astray - that God won't allow it. In fact, there are many scriptures that suggest the end times are rife with Israel being led Astray. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself called one of the original apostles a "devil" for heaven's sake, so how this idea that men of this order can't lead us astray .... how did this happen?
John 6:70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
Can We Be Led Astray?
The following is an edited version of a post I uploaded to ldsfreedomforum.com last week:
Jacob 5:42 Behold, I knew that all the fruit of the vineyard, save it were these, had become corrupted. And now these which have once brought forth good fruit have also become corrupted; and now all the trees of my vineyard are good for nothing save it be to be hewn down and cast into the fire.
43 And behold this last, whose branch hath withered away, I did plant in a good spot of ground; yea, even that which was choice unto me above all other parts of the land of my vineyard. (gee where could this be?)
44 And thou beheldest that I also cut down that which cumbered this spot of ground, that I might plant this tree in the stead thereof. (Ephraim supplanting Manasseh + possible non Manasseh (see X DNA gene that is mostly eastern USA))
45 And thou beheldest that a part thereof brought forth good fruit, and a part thereof brought forth wild fruit; and because I plucked not the branches thereof and cast them into the fire, behold, they have overcome the good branch that it hath withered away. (see Church history with troubled finances - 1905 declaration of OMAS, Tithing requirement for temple, etc.)
46 And now, behold, notwithstanding all the care which we have taken of my vineyard, the trees thereof have become corrupted, that they bring forth no good fruit; and these I had hoped to preserve, to have laid up fruit thereof against the season, unto mine own self. But, behold, they have become like unto the wild olive tree, and they are of no worth but to be hewn down and cast into the fire; and it grieveth me that I should lose them.
47 But what could I have done more in my vineyard? Have I slackened mine hand, that I have not nourished it? Nay, I have nourished it, and I have digged about it, and I have pruned it, and I have dunged it; and I have stretched forth mine hand almost all the day long, and the end draweth nigh. And it grieveth me that I should hew down all the trees of my vineyard, and cast them into the fire that they should be burned. Who is it that has corrupted my vineyard?
48 And it came to pass that the servant said unto his master: Is it not the loftiness of thy vineyard—have not the branches thereof overcome the roots which are good? And because the branches have overcome the roots thereof, behold they grew faster than the strength of the roots, taking strength unto themselves. Behold, I say, is not this the cause that the trees of thy vineyard have become corrupted?
In case there's any doubt as to where the above happens:
Ether 2:10 For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God. And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off.
That narrows it down!
Despite giving Jacob 5 a full treatment here on this blog relatively recently, how has the fate of Israel in America seemingly been a mystery to everyone including myself? Where is crystal clear. When is crystal clear - after Eprhaim's supplanting of Manasseh and just before the gathering of Israel and the peace that comes at the onset of the millennium. When and where is clear. What about who?
Think on what a branch is - the branch holds up the smaller branches and leaves fruit. A bitter branch cannot bring forth good fruit. If only we had a definition from Jesus Himself as to what the branches represent....
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Can when, and where, and who be any clearer?
And in case there's any doubt about "loftiness" go watch President Nelson's birthday celebration where he plays a piano song, um, in his own honor. I could barely stand to watch about 5 minutes in sum:
The corruption becomes so bad that the Lord Jehovah intends on destroying the vineyard. How can such a thing happen? I believe this may trace back to when the brethren started seeking financial refuge in the banks of the world ... money - that central element to the kingdom of the devil which may actually be entirely absent from ZION.
Jacob 5:49 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard said unto the servant: Let us go to and hew down the trees of the vineyard and cast them into the fire, that they shall not cumber the ground of my vineyard, for I have done all. What could I have done more for my vineyard?
50 But, behold, the servant said unto the Lord of the vineyard: Spare it a little longer.
There can be no doubt. The location is clearly America. The timing is after Ephraim arrives but just before the gathering of Israel beings. The corruption of Israel in America is so bad that Jehovah initiates a command to destroy the vineyard here entirely. Think about that! The servant is the end time's king who has been protecting Israel and bearing the name of the Lord as The Angel of the Lord since he saved Abraham from Elkenah.
The Gathering of Israel
Jacob 5:52 Wherefore, let us take of the branches of these which I have planted in the nethermost parts of my vineyard, and let us graft them into the tree from whence they came; and let us pluck from the tree those branches whose fruit is most bitter, and graft in the natural branches of the tree in the stead thereof.
Remember, this same angel turned his sword on Jerusalem in the days of King David. Plucking out from Israel .... what does the garment protect us again? Oh that's right - from the power of the destroyer. Who is the destroyer? The servant of the vineyard. Your garment represents the covenants you've made with God since before this life began. Stay true to them - to God - and those end times plagues will only be aimed at those who take upon themselves the mark of the beast - to buy and sell in Babylon.
This is the tithing of people from Isaiah 6 and D&C 64 -> "I will burn them up, for I am the Lord of Hosts; and I will not spare any that remain in Babylon."
Burn? That's what the servant does with the branches. What a coincidence!
But be a "good global citizen...."
Jacob 5:58 And we will nourish again the trees of the vineyard, and we will trim up the branches thereof; and we will pluck from the trees those branches which are ripened, that must perish, and cast them into the fire.
59 And this I do that, perhaps, the roots thereof may take strength because of their goodness; and because of the change of the branches, that the good may overcome the evil.
Look at that! We do have such an interpretation! Jesus is speaking to His Apostles here and calls them the branches. This aligns perfectly with the parable of Doctrine and Covenants 101.
The Lord cleans house here - "Upon my house it shall begin." I strongly suspect we'll see a cleansing first. After that - this happens:
Jacob 5:61 Wherefore, go to, and call servants, that we may labor diligently with our might in the vineyard, that we may prepare the way, that I may bring forth again the natural fruit, which natural fruit is good and the most precious above all other fruit.
62 Wherefore, let us go to and labor with our might this last time, for behold the end draweth nigh, and this is for the last time that I shall prune my vineyard.
This is the same order of operations in D&C 101. Note who destroys - well spoiler alert
D&C 101:51 And the enemy came by night, and broke down the hedge; and the servants of the nobleman arose and were affrighted, and fled; and the enemy destroyed their works, and broke down the olive trees.
52 Now, behold, the nobleman, the lord of the vineyard, called upon his servants, and said unto them, Why! what is the cause of this great evil?
This is so similar to Jacob 5 - why hasn't this been a central lesson in our church!? The lamenting of the fallen servants / branches / watchmen who took strength unto themselves instead of building the watchtower. Yet the enemy here sure reads like the globalists. Compare to the covenant with death in Isaiah where the watchmen of Ephraim make a covenant to be spared from a scourge but are instead overrun by it. Is this the Lord's doing or the wicked? Sometimes it's one in the same (see: Book of Mormon)
D&C 101:53 Ought ye not to have done even as I commanded you, and—after ye had planted the vineyard, and built the hedge round about, and set watchmen upon the walls thereof—built the tower also, and set a watchman upon the tower, and watched for my vineyard, and not have fallen asleep, lest the enemy should come upon you?
54 And behold, the watchman upon the tower would have seen the enemy while he was yet afar off; and then ye could have made ready and kept the enemy from breaking down the hedge thereof, and saved my vineyard from the hands of the destroyer.
I believe the enemy and destroyer are two different people. At various times the angel of the Lord protected Israel, turned his sword against Israel and also stayed his hand at the carrying away of ten tribes and the carrying away of the remaining tribes into Bablyon. It almost like he held the keys of destruction - or the keys of death and hell.
55 And the lord of the vineyard said unto one of his servants: Go and gather together the residue of my servants, and take all the strength of mine house, which are my warriors, my young men, and they that are of middle age also among all my servants, who are the strength of mine house, save those only whom I have appointed to tarry;
56 And go ye straightway unto the land of my vineyard, and redeem my vineyard; for it is mine; I have bought it with money.
One of the servants gathers other servants just...like...Jacob 5 - and gathers Israel - just...like...Jacob 5. Then they prepare for war to redeem the vineyard - the young lion among sheep is Jacob at war with the gentiles near the end. The promises of vengeance on behalf of Joseph Smith are fulfilled here - yet another lesson that has never been adequately given. Can you imagine what it would have been like growing up with proper lessons to prepare us for this?
The Lord has bought the vineyard with money. There are such curious uses of the term money in all these prophecies that underscore the mark of the beast being what divides the wicked from the righteous. Money is what caused the watchmen to fail in D&C 101:
D&C 101:48 And consulted for a long time, saying among themselves: What need hath my lord of this tower, seeing this is a time of peace?
49 Might not this money be given to the exchangers? For there is no need of these things.
Who are the money exchangers? The federal reserve. The evil swiss bankers - The Rothschilds - Those who use usury to enslave mankind. Wilford Woodruff sought their help rather than the Lord's which is about as topsy turvy as can be. Do your own homework here brothers and sisters....you'll find a disturbing tale of debts paid off with more debts paid off with more debts - which is how the globalist bankers subvert countries and kingdoms and subjugate them to their will.
"The Lord will never permit me or any other man who stands as President of this Church to lead you astray." This fallacy was given at the same time the Wilford Woodruff started to take strength unto himself in counseling with man rather than the Lord. Again, do your own research here regarding Wilford Woodruff and the Bohemiam Grove, and the Rothschilds.
Yet, the irony of all ironies is Wilford Woodruff is the one who transcribed the following words of Joseph Smith ... the fact these teachings are completely incongruent with the idea that God will never let the brethren lead us astray is abundantly clear:
Let the Twelve be humble & not be exalted & beware of pride & not seek to excel one above another but act for each other's good & honorably make mention of each other's name in our prayers before the Lord & before our fellow men, & not backbite & devour our brother.
Why will not man learn wisdom by precept & example at this late age of the world & not be obliged to learn everything we know by sad experience? Must the new ones that are chosen to fill the places of those that are fallen of the quorum of the Twelve, begin to exalt themselves until they get so high that they will tumble over & have a great fall & go wallowing through the mud, mire, & darkness Judas like to the buffetings of Satan as several of the Twelve have done, or will they learn wisdom & be wise? (O God give them wisdom & keep them humble I pray)
When the Twelve or any other witness of Jesus Christ stands before the congregations of the earth & they preach in the power & demonstration of the Holy Ghost & the people are astonished & confounded at the doctrine & say that that man has preached a powerful discourse - a great sermon - then let that man or those men take care that they do not ascribe the glory unto themselves but be careful that they are humble & ascribe the praise & glory to God & the Lamb for it is by the power of the Holy Priesthood & the Holy Ghost that they have power thus to speak.
What art thou O man but dust & from whom dost thou received thy power & blessings but from God, then O ye Twelve notice this [drawing of a key] key & be wise for Christ sake & your own souls sake. Ye are not sent out to be taught but to teach. Let every man be sober. Be vigilant, & let all his words be seasoned with grace & keep in mind that it is a day of warning & not of many words. Act honest before God & man beware of gentile sophistry such as bowing & scraping unto men in whom you have no confidence, be honest open & frank in all your intercourse with mankind.
O ye Twelve and all saints, profit by this important Key [drawing of a key] that in all your trials, troubles &, temptations, afflictions bonds imprisonment & death see to it that you do not betray heaven, that you do not betray Jesus Christ--that you do not betray your Brethren, & that you do not betray the revelations of God whether in the bible, Book of Mormon, or Doctrine & Covenants or any of the word of God. yea in all your kicking, & floundering see to it that you do not this thing lest innocent blood be found in your skirts & you go down to hell. We may ever know by this sign that there is danger of our being led to a fall & apostasy, when we give way to the devil so as to neglect the first known duty but whatever you do do not betray your Friend
~ Discourse, 2 July 1839, as Reported by Wilford Woodruff

ReplyDeleteDid you pray to the Father in the name of Christ and ask if the prophet of Christ’s church is leading the church astray? I did. And the answer was and is no. You have been deceived by a false spirit my friend.
ReplyDeleteThere may be one wolf in sheep clothing among the 12 as in times past but not all of them. With this post you are essentially declaring yourself above God’s anointed and you are wrong to do so.
So your judgement and clarity can be declared beyond my own yet I cannot judge for myself whether the brethren are leading us astray without putting myself above them? What an absurd false dichotomy that calls into question your very witness.
DeleteJoseph Smith gave the twelve a key to avoid falling due to pride. Do you know what that key was? Do not betray the Lord or His word. The moment Elder Stevenson betrayed the written word for the PC agenda I knew something dire had transpired. Likewise the softening of the honor code. Your choice is to be ashamed of the Lord or be ashamed of these men. Choose. But as the days move forward you'll see the brethren continue in lock step with Babylon until destruction comes upon us. Read Isaiah 28, and D&C 101 with an open heart and a humble prayer if you can.
Do you have a link where I could check out this Stevenson thing? I'm not familiar with what happened.
DeleteThere's a link at the end of the article that follows this one: The Ascension of Isaiah - Introduction. The very first link in the sources
DeleteIsaiah talks about some of the watchmen of Israel (prophets) in the last days, and compares them to dumb watchdogs unable to bark (warn the people). He also talks about Israel during this time being cursed with wrote learning (a trifle here and a trifle there) and milk only. He describes how the Lord replaces these watchmen with ones that will bark. He also implies that there are some good watchmen.
DeleteThere is no question that apostles can be lead astray. The question is are ours? And if some are, how many? Isaiah also talks about how in the last days those in Israel begin to separate. At first they all appear pretty much the same but then it becomes more plain who is serving God and who is not. Of course this would also include apostles.
My only cautions to anyone would be these 1. not to lump all of the apostles and prophets together, 2. remember that an apostle (or any person) can be correct in one aspect and incorrect in another, and 3. be sure we are judging righteous judgement.
For example President Nelson didn't create the current system he now governs. Also we don't know what his opinion of his birthday celebration was, or why he agreed to allow everyone to honor him in that way. We have no idea what he said to his wife after the event (I agree it was a bit much, and I love President Nelson). And we don't know the reasons for the other changes mentioned either.
If these times have taught me anything it is that we need to be worthy enough and seek it enough to be able to get our own revelation. Isn't that what we have always been taught, even regarding words from a prophet? We are supposed to get our own confirmation. And we are suppose to be worthy to discern truth where ever we find it.
Also God has in past times given Israel what they wanted, such as giving the Jews things that they could not understand.
Being worthy, humble and seeking it enough to be able to receive our own revelation about everything, is what matters most. It is not LDS doctrine to lazily follow the leadership of the church. We are supposed to pray and get our own confirmation about even what the Prophets tell us. "Following the prophet" includes this aspect of personal revelation.
Also an important scripture to remember is Moroni 7:16-17 which reads: "16 For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.
17 But whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the devil; for after this manner doth the devil work, for he persuadeth no man to do good, no, not one; neither do his angels; neither do they who subject themselves unto him."
It has never really bothered me when I see apostles or prophets making what in my view appears to be a mistake. They are human. Sometimes we forget that. Moses made a mistake that kept him from being able to go to the promised land, Joseph Fielding Smith said he did not believe God would ever allow men to reach the moon, and Spencer W Kimball denied in one of his books that Brigham Young ever taught what many interpret to mean the "Adam God Theory". Big deal. Moses was human, Joseph Fielding Smith was giving his opinion, and Spencer Kimball probably had never read the Journal of Discourses.
And we also do not know if God is giving us as a people what we deserve through these things because of our level of righteousness as a people. We need to focus most on our own level of righteousness and our own personal revelations and give other human beings, including apostles and prophets in many cases, the benefit of the doubt.
Great thoughts David. I was hoping to continue forward on my blog discussing the beautiful mysteries of the Gospel - yet I see I'll need to take a bigger pause and address this topic. The prophets have taught consistently we should never follow them blindly. If they weren't capable of heading us down a wrong path, there would be no reason for such personal revelation. Of course if one feels that not only we are heading down a wrong path but an everlastingly dangerous path - what becomes your responsibility in that moment? Do we remain silent and let others figure it out? Obviously the mere fact of raising one's voice will be met with accusations of pride and elevating oneself up above the brethren. Certainly that happens, but again if we're taught to seek revelation and those answers provide such clarity as to see the dangers that lie ahead, that's when we seek revelation on whether to raise your voice. There is plenty - PLENTY - of precedent for this in the scriptures. I feel the spirit burn within me as I write this. Stay tuned for a full treatment of the alarming signs that read clearly: DANGER AHEAD.
DeleteHow did Wilford Woodruff change the church finances so as to deal with the likes of the Rothschilds etc?
ReplyDeleteDo some research regarding Wilford Woodruff and the Bohemian Grove. At the same time we started to seek out the worst of men for aid, whether deliberately or not, we have the first appearance of the absurd idea that God doesn't allow the Priesthood to lead us astray. How that fallacy hasn't stood out like a store thumb is beyond me. Read the scriptures ... How often has Israel fallen by evil leaders?
DeleteWhat about the Book of Mormon. The pride cycle only applies to church members but the brethren are immune?
Read the quote from Joseph Smith again....not only are we all susceptible, but we all of us are subject to the same destructions that always befall Israel when ripe. We are ripe.
Hi Alaris,
ReplyDeleteI left a message with you last month indicating I felt impressed to share something with you. You directed me to ldsfreedomforum and to your about me page where I could message you directly.
Unfortunately, the about me page doesn't have your email address and I created an account on the ldsfreedomforum page but am unable to message any users until I meet certain posting requirements. I do not post online, so after trying to make a few "meaningless" posts in hopes they would grant me permission to message members, I still don't have the ability to send messages.
However, I recall that my comment to you did not show up immediately on your website after I hit the publish button, which leads me to belive you need to approve all comments on your website. What I want to share with you is very personal, and I don't want anyone else to have it but you.
If you would like, I can post what I want to share with you as a comment, and you can just not publish my comment, or I can give you my email address via the comment section, and you then deny publishing my comment, you could then email me and I could give you what I want to share.
I know this is all a little cloak and dagger, but I really do not like bringing any attention to myself. To share a brief description of me and my brief background. I am a college professor, and lifelong member of the church. I served a mission, and have held numerous callings in the church. About 7 years ago I was released as a branch president, and nearly left the church because of how terribly I was treated by the members of the branch, and it wasn't because I was some awful leader either. I had a former area authority as my first counselor, and a former stake president as my second counselor who I relied upon for guidance both in the church and out. I did absolutely everything I could for the members, not only by the book, but by the spirit.
After being released, I had such a terrible taste in my mouth that I fully intended to leave the church, but then the Lord told me to begin studying Isaiah, and not just a little bit, but really study (as a side note, I am former military, and speak and read Hebrew, so it wasn't just a simple reading of the KJV, it was to read multiple translations, including in Hebrew). During my studies, my view changed tremendously about the Church. While I decided it was nearsighted of me to leave the Church based on my experiences as a Branch President, I then began to have extreme disgust towards the Church based on what Isaiah had to say about it and wanted to distance myself from the Church for a whole new reason!
Needless to say, all of this led up to my oldest son and I attending general conference in 2017, and I received a vision. Now, since you don't know me from Adam, I do not use that word lightly, and it definitely wasn't a vision in the sense of seeing angels, and what Enoch and Moses and Isaiah experienced. It was something wholly different, but vision is the best word I can use to describe the experience. I have only shared this with my wife and children, no one else. I feel impressed to share it with you. If you would allow me.
I hope to receive an email from you at the address below. However, if I don't receive an email from you and this comment isn't published, I will comment again with what I want to share.
Thank you for sharing your insights and journey with us.

So quick observation, the nobleman in the parable in D&C 101, after the Vineyard is overrun, calls one of his servants right? That servant is identified as Joseph Smith in D&C 103:21 by the Lord himself. That servant is the one called to gather the young men and middle aged men. This obviously hasn't happened yet. So the logical conclusion is Joseph Smith returns and is resurrected to do his work. There are also references to Joseph's boys by at least Kimball, Young, and I think Taylor as the ones foreordained be a part of this work. I know the Davidic Servant is correct, I also know president Young warned that the paradigm of the gentiles missing the Lord's Chosen will be the same as the Jews rejection of Christ because they expected the Davidic King, a temporal Savior and we are doing the inverse. My question, and one I can't seem to figure out is that when does Joseph return to finish his job (a look at his patriarchal blessings shows he isn't done, plus his own words and scriptures about his work) and how does that fit in with the Davidic Servant. There seems to be alot of conflating the 2 servants everywhere I look and no one seems to have a clear answer. The work in old Jerusalem, and the 144k, and the post new Jerusalem/ zion seems super clearly David, but the pre Zion, calling home of the 10 tribes seems tough to figure out who does what. I was curious if you had any thoughts. My email is aragoninstall@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteAlso regarding the times of the gentiles, President Joseph F. Smith, Joseph Fielding Smith and elder Mcconkie said the times of the gentiles was fulfilled between 1917 and 1967, and the standard president Young gave as to when it's fulfilled seem to line up. Obviously President Joseph F. Smith was gone before 1967 but he was pretty clear in 1917 that it was in the process of being completed with the British and would be when the city of Jerusalem was under Jewish control. That lines up with scripture as we know the generation that was coming of age(boomers) when the times of the gentiles were fulfilled would live to see the Lord, but the wording insinuates near the end of thier lives and they would not have all passed. That lines up with the progression to the redemption of Zion.
Desolating illness, gives rise to the Assyrian, shortly followed by the overflowing scourge and famine ( following the type of Joseph in Egypt) the Assyrian gets up to the neck, then 2 years into said famine the 10 tribes are called home from the north country in an event that makes Moses parting the sea look like small stuff. Then the breaking of the yoke of the Assyrian and the great dragon turning its attention away from North America. (Obviously a ton of other things happen, return of all aspects of celestial law, consecration, marriage, ect. Meetings at adam-ondi-ahmen, and much more)
3rd Nephi 27:10-11 - “But if it [my church] be not built upon my gospel, and is built upon the works of men, or upon the works of the devil, verily I say unto you they have joy in their works FOR A SEASON, and BY AND BY the end cometh, and they are hewn down and cast into the fire, from whence there is no return.”
ReplyDeleteThe falsehood is: an erring prophet will be removed immediately & not allowed to lead people astray at all.
The Truth is: the Lord says such men are allowed to enjoy their plunder FOR A SEASON... & by and by, their end cometh. ITS NOT AN IMMEDIATE REMOVAL.
Why? There's no better way for His people to practice discernment & learn to rely on the Lord themselves rather than assume their exaltation can be centered on following any other man.
NOTE: These verses allow for the possibility that a church called in His name can STILL be lead by men, or worse, devils. It IS possible for that to happen. The LDS members have been conditioned to think otherwise.
Thank you so much for this blog as I have learned, absorbed and pondered much! As of this Jan 2022..I have distanced myself from the church because I could not turn a blind eye to all I have seen in choices that the Church has aligned with. It was not easy..cognitive dissonance is real. I wondered if you could address the garment. I know they represent covenants made...yet their symbols which have ties to masons...I cannot dismiss it. I continue to wear them..but
ReplyDeleteconfusion if it was Brigham who brought them forward..and I cannot align with anything he had said or done...what did Joseph teach on the subject?? Thank you brother!
Hey there Mr. Anonymous! You sound there as though you're there down the right path. Ah .... The Holy Temple of the LORD. That's a good question. And Garments....man oh man. Sometimes I wear them... The garments. Most of the time m..I do not. Brigham Young has taken much from his brother (lol) Joseph Smith, and sometimes he took a bit from Masons. So...I'm confused.
DeleteBut....James was / is the Archangel (barely) and would have kneeled because He is King.
Im not big on celebrations myself, but neither I nor anyone in my family felt anything but Love from President Nelson when he played the piano for US. After learning of his gift, as Wendy revealed it, I have been waiting for him to share that with us. No one in my immediate family is musically inclined, unless
ReplyDeletehitting multiple bullseyes at great distances with weaponry is considered music to you! lol Everyone I know thought it was a way for him to give back on his birthday. Being that im over the half century mark by many years and still have living elders, I have witnessed for myself the discomfort that accompanies your posterity celebrating your birthday and the many ways some of us attempt to diffuse it. Mostly it comes by way of doing or cooking something for all those who have come to honor the aged birthday boy or girl. Your view of loftiness is an entitled perception which I
honor, but certainly dont share. In the last five years I have watched dozens of Saints and those in other religions begin to critique their faiths and then their clergy/leaders and then its a short, quick ride to the bottom of faithless, anger, depression for some and continued ill speaking of the Lords Anointed, accompanied with a nawing discontent that leads to more criticism. It's a dark ugly spiral and the anger and resentment keeps them
caught in that devils game and they dont see it. There are thousands of scriptures we all can use to prove our view one way or another , but the one we should apply first before any other is the Mote and the Beam. Im no one of significance. I all but failed every grade I went through, Ive worked a blue-collar job all my days and in my late 20's had my own faith cliff or precipice , after a divorce , from which I could leap off of or follow the one scripture my Dad had recited all my life... James 1:5-6. It was an obvious choice and I gained a Testimony of this Telestial Gospel. But it was much later that I would spend a decade learning how to apply and live the principle of the Mote and the Beam as my compass. I learned that what we perceive of other's characters is almost always a reflection of ourselves for good or bad. We're not talking about obviously heinous people, but to attribute the generosity and shared gifts from one who has it to offer, as originating from showmanship of the repugnant sort .... is the same crippled perception that would call the Lord a show-off for turning a few fishes and loaves into enough to feed 10 thousand souls. satan sees everything through the perception of greed and Jealousy because thats who he is. These are not the qualities or perceptions Our Savior holds. This makes for a real simple ruler to evaluate who is influencing us and we would all be wise to look in the mirror for a Beam the moment we think we have detected a Mote elsewhere .
