The Seven Levels of Creation Part I
The Seven Levels of Creation
Part I
Summary: The seven days of creation are rich in symbolism. The Seven Levels of Creation articles will demonstrate how the seven days of creation clearly represent each of the seven dispensation patriarchs, the laws of God each represents, and the seven levels of mankind who align to each dispensation and law. Knowing who we are and where we are on our eternal journey is a critical step to understanding what we must do to become more like God.
Disclaimer: This article is not official doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, I do believe there are important considerations in this article in gaining a fuller understanding of the creation and how this understanding illuminates who we are on our eternal journey. Please pray before reading as the Spirit is the teacher of all truth. The Spirit may personalize any message, and I would rather the reader learn from the Spirit of Truth than from me.
Introduction: This is the eighth article dedicated to the Seven Levels of Mankind. Though I recommend reading each article in turn, I will provide a brief overview of some of what has been covered thus far. In the second and third chapters of the Book of Revelation, the Angel of the Lord provides seven messages to John to the angels of the seven churches of Asia; funny how this statement should already raise an eyebrow. Though so many discard these messages as ancient, only pertaining to the churches of Asia in the time of John, why would the Angel of the Lord give these messages to John rather than to the angels themselves?
The obvious answer is that these messages are not just for the angels but for all of mankind and for good reason. Each church of Asia represents an order of mankind, and each angel has dominion over their respective church or order. A church is merely a congregation of people after all. Though the messages are cryptic, some more than others, each message ends with a promised reward of overcoming. What must be overcome? Well, that part is missing, which is partly why few even take a closer look at this mystery.
These promises of overcoming align perfectly to the seven dispensations, the sequential laws of God, and to the dispensation heads themselves. Each dispensation head is an archangel of dominion over one of the seven orders of mankind. The life of each dispensation head epitomizes the law that aligns to their respective order. All of these concepts have been covered already in the seven articles that have been written thus far (top-left sidebar.) This eighth article will demonstrate how the days of creation reinforce this eternal truth - that there are seven orders of mankind, and each order is a step closer to becoming like God. Below is a graphic that demonstrates these promised rewards of overcoming and how they each align to the dispensations, patriarchs, and laws of God.
The life of each dispensation head epitomizes the law that aligns to their respective order |
The alignment of the dispensations, patriarchs, laws are covered in prior articles. This article will focus on how the seven days of creation reinforces this alignment by not only adding another important witness to the truth but also adding another dimension of truth and understanding. Remember, the dispensations in reverse (time in reverse) are a ladder, ascending back to God. However, the days of creation align to these seven laws and dispensations in forward chronological order. In this article, I will demonstrate how each day of creation aligns to each order of mankind and how the days of creation and the seven dispensations are a chiasmus.
The Chiasmus of the Creation and Dispensations
Days of Creation
1 - Light & Dark
2 - Water & Clouds
3 - Dry Land & Plants
4 - Sun, Moon, Stars
5 - Animals
6 - Man
7 - Rest with God
Dispensations
7 - Adam
6 - Enoch
5 - Noah
4 - Abraham
3 - Moses
2 - Peter
1 - Joseph Smith
So the first dispensation, Adam, aligns with the seventh day of creation. The second dispensation aligns with the sixth day, and so forth.Without further ado, let's dive in:
Part I - The First Day of Creation, Faith, Resurrection, and Joseph Smith
The First Day: Moses 2:3 And I, God, said: Let there be light; and there was light.
4 And I, God, saw the light; and that light was good. And I, God, divided the light from the darkness.
5 And I, God, called the light Day; and the darkness, I called Night; and this I did by the word of my power, and it was done as I spake; and the evening and the morning were the first day.
The First Promise of Overcoming: Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
In this section, I will align each of the days of creation to the Patriarchs as well as the laws of the gospel and promises of overcoming. Each patriarch represents one order or class of mankind. These seven orders, or levels, of mankind each represents a different step or phase in our eternal progression towards Godhood. The laws of the gospel that align to the dispensations are sequential, beginning with faith and ending with consecration. Without further ado, let's begin with Joseph Smith who is aligned to the first level of mankind and the first law of God which is faith--and all of these align to the first day of creation.
Creation Day 1: Dark / Light. Law: Faith. Dispensation: 7. Patriarch: Joseph Smith. Reward: Resurrection |
Moses 2:3 And I, God, said: Let there be light; and there was light.
4 And I, God, saw the light; and that light was good. And I, God, divided the light from the darkness.
The first level of mankind is the first estate where those who overcome received not only the promise of being born into the world but also the promise of the resurrection. There was a division between the souls of light and the souls of darkness, where the souls of darkness became the devil and the angels of the devil. The souls of light moved on to the second estate. In other words, God divided the light from the darkness. This link from the first day to the first estate is crystal clear. But what about the 7th dispensation and Joseph Smith?
How does Joseph Smith represent the first day of creation which day was about light appearing from the darkness? See where I am going with this?
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
So, after a long period of darkness known as the dark ages, the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through a dispensation prince, Joseph Smith. A great light is come and is a beacon to the gentiles first and then to Jews. This is the dispensation Joseph Smith started, and it will end with the birth of the Kingdom of God and a new King (see the sign of Revelation 12 and the articles on sidebar regarding the Davidic Servant.) This new King is called ... wait for it ... the light to the gentiles.
Isaiah 42:5 ¶ Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
Notice the references both to the creation and to the light / darkness motif. This light / dark motif is used several times throughout Isaiah in relation to the last dispensation and the king and kingdom that are both born from this final dispensation. Notice how the blindness metaphor is used - another darkness motif. Birth is also a motif used throughout the Book of Revelation and Isaiah which both hail back to a new creation and new beginning. This is all very much not a coincidence! See Isaiah 9:2, and Isaiah 49:6 where the servant is told he will be a light to the gentiles in addition to restoring the preserved of Israel. The final dispensation aligns back to the first day of creation.
What else happens during the final dispensation that aligns to the first estate? The devils are imprisoned at the end of the final dispensation just as they were cast out at the end of the first estate. Joseph Smith is already clearly aligned to the first day of creation, but let's tie one more link to the first promised reward of overcoming for first estate beings.
Revelation 3:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
What does Joseph Smith have to do with Revelation 3:7? The promised reward aligns to the significance of the tree of life in the Garden of Eden:
Moses 4:28 And I, the Lord God, said unto mine Only Begotten: Behold, the man is become as one of us to know good and evil; and now lest he put forth his hand and partake also of the tree of life, and eat and live forever,
The reward for overcoming the first estate is to receive an immortal resurrection. Yet, the tree of life is also so much more than just the resurrection.
1 Nephi 11:25 And it came to pass that I beheld that the rod of iron, which my father had seen, was the word of God, which led to the fountain of living waters, or to the tree of life; which waters are a representation of the love of God; and I also beheld that the tree of life was a representation of the love of God.
Are there two trees of life or one? Does the tree of life represent the resurrection or the love of God? Yes. As with many principles of the gospel that can lead to debate and even contention, this is yet another case where it's not one or the other interpretation but both. How can this be? First, the resurrection is a gift promised to those who have overcome the first estate. God's love is present in that gift (see what I did there?). Second, it is by this gift that we are able to sit down with our families in the eternities, and it is God's love that makes this possible. Joseph Smith restored this knowledge and layer of understanding of the tree of life when he translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God.
In 1 Nephi 11, Nephi is shown the tree of life and then shown the Son of God and then is made to understand that the tree of life is God's love. For God so loved the world that he gave his Only Begotten Son by whom the resurrection is made possible. What does the tree of life represent? God's love. What is God's love but the gift and power of the Atonement that promises us all resurrection as well as the redemptive power which ties all of this to the second day of creation and the reward promised to those who overcome the second estate.
An interesting additional link from the tree of life to Joseph Smith's dispensation is the fact that Joseph Smith's father saw the tree of life in vision 19 years before the Book of Mormon was translated.
The law of faith is emulated by Joseph Smith during his mortal probation. Though each patriarch certainly emulates more than just the law to which they are aligned, I hope to demonstrate here how each law of the gospel is more strongly aligned to the dispensation heads over each order of mankind. Joseph Smith aligns to faith and to the first day of creation. By faith, Joseph Smith asked God which church he should join and by faith he beheld the glorious light of the Father and the Son - a light he described as being above the brightness of the sun. The light motif is intact here as well as when the angel Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith in his glory that was described as brighter than the noonday sun. These motifs that align the dispensation heads to the days of creation have been here all along hiding in plain sight. Let there be light! Now, let's have a look at Peter and the second day of creation.
Part II - The Second Day of Creation, Repentance, Salvation from Spiritual Death, and Peter
The Second Day: Moses 2:7 And I, God, made the firmament and divided the waters, yea, the great waters under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament, and it was so even as I spake.
8 And I, God, called the firmament Heaven; and the evening and the morning were the second day.
The Second Promise of Overcoming: Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Juxtaposing an image of the days of creation with the dispensation patriarchs really underscores just how perfectly they match. In Part I where Joseph Smith is overlaid over the image of darkness and light, the achievement of Joseph Smith is beautifully emphasized. Below, Peter is overlaid against a backdrop of creation of the second day - the sea and clouds ... hrm ... Fisherman, calmed seas, and of course walking on water all come to mind. But the most powerful image connection is how the law of the second order of mankind - Repentance - is perfectly symbolized by Jesus rescuing Peter who begins to sink while walking on water due to the failure of faith. Isn't that why we fall? We lose faith and succumb to the watery depths of the adversary. Through repentance, the Lord Jesus Christ rescues our souls from drowning in sin and despair--raising us up to a state of innocence again before Him.
|
There may be another symbol at play here - the heavens, or clouds, are created on the second day, and geologists classify clouds into three areas. From my freshman year at BYU, I remember there being three classifications of clouds covered in my Geography 101 course (which should have been called Geology 101.) Have a look at the image below to see these three areas of clouds classification.
Creation Day 2: Three Degrees of Separation among "The Heavens" |
I'll refer back to this image and symbolism in a moment, but suffice it to say we have the ends of the degrees of separation of the plan of salvation on clear display: Celestial, Terrestrial, Telestial, and Outer Darkness (the sea.) The second day of creation also aligns to the telestial world, or second estate, where these degrees of separation are determined.
Repentance is the tool we use to overcome the natural man which is what we all face during the second estate due to having natural bodies with carnal desires we must learn to control. Each dispensation head epitomizes the law. Peter's life also demonstrates the law of repentance. As the only dispensation patriarch privileged to walk with Jesus during His mortal ministry, Peter demonstrated the personal nature of betrayal we all undergo when we choose to sin.
Peter was told by Jesus that Peter would betray the Savior three times. Ever vigilant and eagerly loyal, Peter promised to never betray the Savior:
Matthew 26:35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
As the Savior was marched to His crucifixion, Peter denied knowing the Savior three times. Upon the third denial, the cock crowed and ...
Matthew 26:75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
This is such a perfect illustration of sin by a disciple of Jesus Christ. We all covenant every Sunday to keep the commandments, eager to be vigilant and loyal just as Peter was. We promise not to break the commandments. Yet we do. All the time. Just as Peter likely justified the denials to self preservation, and just as Peter likely did not even consider these denials sins, we too often sin by justification and often don't realize until it's too late. And, we often have that gentle reminder by the Spirit that we have sinned just as Peter remembered the Savior's words after the event.
I won't cover all the steps of repentance here, but Peter's bitter weeping is clearly a step towards repentance. And just as the Savior rescued Peter's physical body from drowning in the sea, He too rescues our souls from drowning in sin and the bitter weeping of our souls. Recently, I learned that Jesus' three commandments to Peter to bring the Gospel to the gentiles may very well align to these three denials. Three of the same denial and three of the same commandment to feed the sheep / lambs.
John 21:15 ¶ So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
If you love me ... how does the saying go?
John 14:15 ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Just as the first day of creation is a segue into the second, we have here again a segue into the third day which aligns to the third law of heaven - Obedience. But, before we cover the second day, let's tie the second day up into a nice understanding. The second day aligns to the second order of mankind - the gentiles. Peter and Christ both stood at the end of the time of the Jews and ushered in the time of the gentiles. Jesus Christ is the bridge from one to the other. Just as the first principles and ordinances of the gospel are first faith and second repentance - both must be present before baptism can be achieved. Jesus Christ is the gate from the gentiles to join Israel. Remember, time in reverse is a ladder back to God.
- Dispensation 5, Creation Day 3, Mankind Level 3 (first order of Israel), Obedience, Knowledge, Moses
- Gate to Join Israel - Jesus Christ - Baptism
- Dispensation 6, Creation Day 2, Mankind Level 2 (gentiles), Repentance, Salvation from Spiritual Death, Peter
- Dispensation 7, Creation Day 1, Mankind Level 1 (first estate), Faith, Salvation from Physical Death, Joseph Smith
Peter's "rule" did not begin until after Jesus ascended and the time of the gentiles began--the time to gather new souls into the ranks of Israel. The time of the gentiles then continues through the dispensation of Joseph Smith where the gospel is preached first to the gentiles (level 2,) then to the Jews (level 3.)
Finally, let's address the second reward for overcoming and illustrate how it aligns to the sixth dispensation of Peter and the law of repentance.
Finally, let's address the second reward for overcoming and illustrate how it aligns to the sixth dispensation of Peter and the law of repentance.
Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Just as the first reward of overcoming is clearly about salvation from physical death, the second reward for overcoming is clearly about salvation from sin. How does salvation from sin align to the dispensation of Peter? Jesus Christ suffered and died for all of us to bring about salvation from both physical death and spiritual death. This should underscore yet again why Jesus Christ is nestled just above Peter's dispensation in that ladder back to God. Besides the sons of perdition, every soul who is born on earth will receive a degree of salvation. Without the atoning power of salvation from sin and death, every single one of us would become devils ourselves just as Jacob taught below:
2 Nephi 9:8 O the wisdom of God, his mercy and grace! For behold, if the flesh should rise no more our spirits must become subject to that angel who fell from before the presence of the Eternal God, and became the devil, to rise no more.
9 And our spirits must have become like unto him, and we become devils, angels to a devil, to be shut out from the presence of our God, and to remain with the father of lies, in misery, like unto himself; yea, to that being who beguiled our first parents, who transformeth himself nigh unto an angel of light, and stirreth up the children of men unto secret combinations of murder and all manner of secret works of darkness.
The law of repentance clearly aligns to this time and season of the second day of creation, the sixth dispensation of Peter, and to the time of the gentiles. Think back to the three separate classifications of clouds and how the sea itself may represent the domain of the devil, or outer darkness. Salvation from sin is clearly demonstrated by the second day of creation where the waters are separated from the waters. Yet we do not have a simple binary separation as we did in day one where the light and dark are separated. Now, we have four classifiactions. Three areas of clouds - Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial, and one domain of the devil, or outer darkness. The three distinctions of clouds represent the degree to which we are saved from sin. Though the telestial space represents salvation from sin - saved from the conditions stated by Jacob above - we will still suffer if we do not repent.
D&C 19:17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;
18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—
But, if we do repent, we can taste joy as sweet as the bitterness tasted by those who are encircled by sin just as Alma the younger felt when he repented.
Alma 36:20 And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!
In this same chapter, Alma tells his son that the power of the Atonement caused him to remember his pains no more the very moment he called to the Lord for forgiveness. Also, coincidentally, Alma chapter 36 is itself a chiasmus just as the days of creation are a chiasmus with the dispensations. Surely this is all a coincidence, though right? Surely the second day of creation, the sea motif, Peter, repentance, salvation from spiritual death, and the second order of mankind being the gentiles are all a coincidence, right?
3 Nephi 21:6 For thus it behooveth the Father that it should come forth from the Gentiles, that he may show forth his power unto the Gentiles, for this cause that the Gentiles, if they will not harden their hearts, that they may repent and come unto me and be baptized in my name and know of the true points of my doctrine, that they may be numbered among my people, O house of Israel;
Or not! The time of the gentiles, repentance, Peter, and the second day all align to demonstrate not only this important law but to whom this law aligns. Remember, baptism is the gate between repentance and obedience. We must covenant to obey the commandments before we are held accountable to obey said commandments. In the next section, I will align the dispensation of Moses to the law of Obedience as well as to the third day of creation.
Part III - The Third Day of Creation, Obedience, Knowledge, and Moses
The Third Day: Moses 2:9 And I, God, said: Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and it was so; and I, God, said: Let there be dry land; and it was so.
10 And I, God, called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters, called I the Sea; and I, God, saw that all things which I had made were good.
11 And I, God, said: Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, the fruit tree yielding fruit, after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed should be in itself upon the earth, and it was so even as I spake.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, every herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed should be in itself, after his kind; and I, God, saw that all things which I had made were good;
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
The Third Promise of Overcoming: Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Creation Day 3: Dry Land, Fruit. Law: Obedience. Dispensation: 5. Patriarch: Moses. Reward: Knowledge |
The first two rewards of overcoming are rather simple. Salvation from physical and spiritual death. With the third promise, things start to get more complicated. Likewise, the first two days of creation are simple whereas the third begins to get more complicated. Now there isn't just a division of land / water as there was a division of light / dark and water / clouds from the first two days, there is also a creation of plants and fruit. Yet, could the parallels to the dispensation of Moses be any clearer?
On the third day of creation, God commands the water to gather and to cause dry land appear. Moses commands the water to divide to cause the dry land to appear. Could there be a stronger link? Yes! The word manna is a part of the third promise of overcoming, tying the promised reward to the dispensation of Moses and to the third day of creation wherein fruit / food was created. Just as fruit magically grows on trees, so does manna magically appear on the ground to feed the children of Israel during their 40-year sojourn in the wilderness. There are so many symbols of manna, but let's keep focused on the greater ties here from Moses & his dispensation to the third day of creation and the third promise of overcoming aligned to the third level or order of mankind.
But, how is the third promise of overcoming linked to the dispensation of Moses? Well, let's first take a closer look at the third promise of overcoming, which promises "hidden manna" along with a white stone with a new name.
D&C 130:10 Then the white stone mentioned in Revelation 2:17, will become a Urim and Thummim to each individual who receives one, whereby things pertaining to a higher order of kingdoms will be made known;
11 And a white stone is given to each of those who come into the celestial kingdom, whereon is a new name written, which no man knoweth save he that receiveth it. The new name is the key word.
So, the white stone reveals knowledge. But wait, isn't "hidden manna" a weird metaphor for knowledge since manna is a food.... ohhhhh yeah. The fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil! Of course! Do you want to learn more? Eat and take upon yourself a new name. Learn as Adam does by descending into a mortal world of death and sorrow.
What about the law of obedience? Is there any evidence that this law aligns to Moses, the dispensation of Moses, and the promised reward for overcoming. Let's work backwards in true chiasmatic style.
How does the promise of knowledge relate to obedience ... oh yeah! One of the promised rewards for obedience? Knowledge.
D&C 130:19 And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.
Simple. Adam obeyed God's commandments and when asked by the angel why he offered sacrifices unto the Lord, Adam said, "I know not, save the Lord commanded me." The angel then proceeded to teach Adam after Adam's obedience. Obedience brings knowledge.
What about Moses and the Law of Obedience? The law of Moses itself is a reference to the Law of Obedience. Even Jews today follow the law of Moses which focuses on actions rather than thoughts (level 6,) words (level 5,) and desires (level 4.) I have said this before, but the Israelites were not subject to the lesser law of Moses due to the calf worshiping of one generation. They were all subject to the law of Moses for 1500+ years because that was the time and season that aligns to the third day of creation, the third promise of overcoming, and most importantly, to the third order of mankind. Simply put, this is where these folks were on their eternal journey. Mastery of action precedes mastery of desire which precedes mastery of words which precedes mastery of thought.
The dispensation of Moses is full of symbolism to the rewards for obedience and punishment for disobedience. Obedience is submitting one's will to God's will. During the mission to free Israel, Moses and Aaron obeyed God's voice and will against an adversary who may be the most stubborn man in human history. The Pharaoh would not submit his will to the will of the God of Israel and was punished with various plagues until losing their firstborn. This is a great symbol of disobedience - the loss of continuance and the lack of inheritance.
The Israelites were cursed with wandering in the wilderness due to their disobedience, unable to enter the promised land. Conversely, obedience leads to the ability to enter the promised land, or heaven. Have a look at D&C 130:10-11 again above. A white stone is given upon entering the promised land or Celestial Kingdom. Knowledge follows. As patriarch over this order of mankind, Moses both demonstrated how to obey God's commandments in the face of great adversity and demonstrated how to shoulder curses for disobedience like a champ when he failed to follow God's instructions precisely regarding the extraction of water from the rock. So, Moses both demonstrated perfect obedience and demonstrated to his people how to endure a curse for disobedience. Another way at looking at the patriarchs is they demonstrate to their order how to overcome the law to which they are aligned to leave the souls of their order without excuse. Noah, for example, aligns to the Law of the Gospel and preached said Gospel for 120 years with no success. Nobody who aligns to the Law of the Gospel (*ahem* latter-day Ephraim) could even begin to think about complaining to Noah. The Law of the Gospel was too difficult Noah! Imagine *Noah's glare*
Joking aside, let's finish this section by looking again at the sea metaphor being the dominion of the devil. What is the symbol of the third day of creation that relates to this metaphor? Looking back to the dispensation of Moses, the parting of the red sea caused dry land to appear and that dry land was safety to the Lord's ransomed.
Exodus 14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Likewise, the dry land represents the safety and nourishment of those who are obedient to the commandments of God where the nourishment is represented by the creation of fruit, herbs, etc.
D&C 76:5 For thus saith the Lord—I, the Lord, am merciful and gracious unto those who fear me, and delight to honor those who serve me in righteousness and in truth unto the end.
6 Great shall be their reward and eternal shall be their glory.
7 And to them will I reveal all mysteries, yea, all the hidden mysteries of my kingdom from days of old, and for ages to come, will I make known unto them the good pleasure of my will concerning all things pertaining to my kingdom.
8 Yea, even the wonders of eternity shall they know, and things to come will I show them, even the things of many generations.
9 And their wisdom shall be great, and their understanding reach to heaven; and before them the wisdom of the wise shall perish, and the understanding of the prudent shall come to naught.
10 For by my Spirit will I enlighten them, and by my power will I make known unto them the secrets of my will—yea, even those things which eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor yet entered into the heart of man.
In the Holy Temple, the laws of obedience and sacrifice are given simultaneously as Adam and Eve are expelled from the Garden of Eden. These two laws align to the first token and sign given - and they all align to who we were. In the next article, I will continue to align the days of creation to the levels of mankind, the correlating laws of God, the rewards for overcoming each law, and to the dispensation patriarchs. The fourth day of creation will be covered next - the day in which the sun, moon, and stars were caused to appear. This day aligns to Abraham and the law of sacrifice. Abraham, sacrifice, and stars. You can't make this stuff up, because well, it's not made up. It's all true. All of it.
In part II of this series, I will focus on the fourth day of creation and how the fourth day aligns to the fourth dispensation of Abraham, the Law of Sacrifice, and the fourth promise of overcoming.
Thanks for putting the time into writing these articles. I find them very enlightening.

This article is so awesome Alaris, this is really connecting with me. I can't wait for part II !
ReplyDeleteThank you SuHwak! Part II is up already. The focus gets pretty in depth beginning with Abraham, so part II is just about day 4. Day 5 / Noah may even be lengthier, and I'll get to work on that ASAP. I feel these are important to get published quickly for some reason.
DeleteAs usual: fantastic! I greatly look forward to the next one. Also, I'm amazed at how you keep peeling the onion one more layer and voila: another parallel layer is right underneath.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jason! Onion is a great way of putting it - there are so many layers upon layers (upon layers!)
